Originally from Ireland, Tara Gardens owner and president, Miki Gilsenan, has lived and gardened in Southampton for more than twenty years.  The company name, Tara Gardens, is inspired by the Hill of Tara, the ancient home of the High Kings of Ireland in County Meath, where Miki grew up.

Miki’s landscaping clients include world-class oceanfront estates, beloved second homes of New York City-based families, prominent Hamptons businesses, and smaller local residences.  Whether he is working on a large site with internationally-known landscape architects, or simply helping to achieve a family’s unique vision of their dream garden, Miki brings honesty, warmth, meticulous care and total dedication to the job.  He views gardens as a place of beauty and peace which should grow and evolve with the seasons and with the families who live in them.

Over many years, Miki has cultivated an experienced and trustworthy crew of laborers who excel at planting installations and immaculate property maintenance.  The crew members also have a great talent for masonry and create our signature hand-built stone garden walls.

Miki lives in Southampton with his wife, Nica, a local attorney, their son, Donal, and their dog, Sinatra.
